WALNUT, Miss. — Residents in need of food assistance will have an opportunity to receive supplies later this month as North Mississippi Primary Health Care (NMPHC) partners with the Mid-South Food Bank to host a community food pantry event in Walnut.
The distribution is set for February 27, 2026, beginning at 9:30 a.m. and continuing until all food has been distributed.
The event will take place at the Walnut Fire Department, located at 27880 Highway 15 in Walnut. Organizers are asking participants to enter from the back of the fire department to help ensure smooth traffic flow and safety.
According to NMPHC, the organization’s focus remains on serving individuals and families in the community who need care and assistance the most but may have limited access to resources.
Several guidelines have been put in place to keep the event organized:
- Limit of three families per vehicle
- Do not block any driveways
- Follow posted directions and volunteer instructions
The partnership with the Mid-South Food Bank allows for large-scale food distributions that include fresh produce, staple items, and other grocery essentials for local families.
Community members who may benefit from food assistance are encouraged to arrive early, as distribution will continue only while supplies last.
For additional information about services offered by North Mississippi Primary Health Care, residents can contact the organization directly or follow updates on their official channels.
