Calling All Pitmasters: Show Off Your Skills at Burnside Music Fest Cook Off
If you believe you have what it takes to smoke the best ribs or chicken wings in the region, the Burnside Music Fest is issuing a challenge. The festival will host a Rib & Chicken Wing Cook Off on June 6, inviting competitive cooks and barbecue enthusiasts to showcase their culinary talents in historic downtown Ripley.

The cook off features two categories with separate entry fees:
- Ribs Category: $100 entry fee
- Chicken Wings Category: $50 entry fee
Prizes will be awarded in both categories, recognizing the most impressive entries as judged by festival organizers.

Contestants should note a critical requirement: only wood smokers will be considered for judging. This stipulation ensures a level playing field and maintains the traditional barbecue standards the festival seeks to celebrate.
Pickup for contestants is available anytime after 8:00 a.m. at Freemans & Co., making it convenient for participants to drop off their entries.
